Privacy notice

Who is responsible

Dropclip is a free, noncommercial service. For questions about its operation or the handling of personal data, contact the operator at noant56@gmail.com.

What we process and why

We do not require an account or payment information, import your social-media login cookies, or include advertising or third-party behavioural analytics scripts. The fonts are served from our own website.

Cookies and browser storage

The dropclip_session cookie lasts up to 24 hours. It is restricted to HTTPS, inaccessible to page JavaScript, and sent only in the same-site context. It allows the service to distinguish your downloads from other visitors’ downloads. The dropclip-job session-storage entry holds an unfinished job identifier; the app removes it when it observes completion, cancellation, an error, or expiration. Browser session storage is normally cleared when the tab is closed, subject to browser session restoration.

You can delete or block cookies and site storage using your browser settings. Doing so can interrupt a download or prevent access to a prepared file. Dropclip does not use optional advertising or analytics cookies. Clicking Paste asks your browser for clipboard access; only the text you choose to submit is sent as the download link.

Recipients and international processing

Cloudflare hosts the website, Worker, and download container. It processes request information and temporary download data to provide hosting, security, and delivery. Its authorised personnel and subprocessors may process data as described in its Data Processing Addendum and privacy policy.

Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States and operates an international network. Website traffic and service data can be processed in the United States and in other countries where its network and subprocessors operate, rather than being confined to Switzerland. Cloudflare publishes its subprocessors and network locations. Cloudflare describes transfer safeguards, including the Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses with Swiss and UK provisions, in its published Data Processing Addendum. The applicable arrangements depend on the data and destination. You may contact the operator for information about the safeguards relevant to your request.

When you request a video, our server contacts the relevant platform (YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram) and its media-delivery providers. Those services receive the requested video address and our server’s network information. The application does not forward your browser’s IP address or session cookie to those platforms. If you follow an external link, that website receives your visit and applies its own privacy notice.

If you email the operator, Google processes your email through Gmail, including its content, sender details, and delivery metadata. Google’s privacy policy describes its international processing and applicable safeguards. Sending an email is optional and is separate from downloading a video.

How long information is kept

Your rights

Depending on the law applicable to you, you may request access to your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, or a portable copy, and may object to certain processing. Contact the operator above. Include only enough information to identify your request, such as its approximate time and job identifier. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We cannot recover expired files or identify data we no longer hold.

If Swiss data-protection law applies, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. If another jurisdiction’s law applies, you may also contact its competent data-protection authority.

Applicable legal grounds

Your statutory rights depend on the data-protection laws applicable to the operator and the processing, including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection where applicable. To the extent the EU or UK GDPR applies, processing necessary to provide this free service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and answer requests is based on the legitimate interests in those purposes (Article 6(1)(f)), taking account of your rights and reasonable expectations. Processing required by applicable law is based on Article 6(1)(c). You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation.

We do not use these data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects or for advertising profiling.

Changes

We will update this notice if our data handling changes. The date above identifies this version. Material new processing will be explained before it begins where required.
